  • Postdoctoral Fellow / Research Associate

    Human Factors Engineering and Real-Time Cognitive Load Estimation

    The Human Systems Lab at the University of Windsor invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow (PhD obtained within the last 5 years) or Research Associate (Master's/undergraduate degree completed within the last 2 years, depending on qualifications) to join an exciting collaborative research project with Atlas Copco focused on human factors engineering and cognitive load estimation in industrial environments.

     

    Required Technical Skills

    Candidates should possess expertise in most of the following areas:

    • Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence (most important)

    • Signal Processing (most important)

    • Human Factors Engineering (most important)

    • Ocular Signal Processing and Eye Tracking

    • Experimental Design and Human-Subject Research

    • Statistical Data Analysis

    • Programming in Python, MATLAB, or similar scientific computing environments

  • Overview

    The Human Systems Lab at the University of Windsor is looking for highly motivated candidates for funded Master's and PhD positions in Human Factors with a start date of Fall/Winter . The multidisciplinary research team led by Dr. Francesco Biondi has active projects in the fields of AI, driving automation, and manufacturing.
     

    Qualification requirements

    • Master’s degree in Psychology, Industrial Engineering, Cognitive Science, Kinesiology or related fields with a minimum 80% GPA in the last 2 years

    • Excellent English skills (written and oral)

    • Knowledge of R, Matlab, and Python (preferred)

    Main duties and responsibilities

    • Data collection using physiological measures and driving simulator

    • Data processing using software such as R, Matlab, and Python.

    • Dissemination of research findings at conferences and via publications.
